According to a April 6 report by CaiLian News, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security issued an interim final rule earlier this year, proposing export controls on high-parameter flow cytometers and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) instruments. The BIS stated that these specific scientific research equipment were added to the ban list mainly because they can generate high-quality biological data, which may be used for AI training or military technology development. China's scientific instrument market has grown rapidly, but high-end equipment still relies heavily on imports. This ban will impact the development of related fields in China.
